Meadowlands is Coventry’s premier fishery.

Located in Ryton on the outskirts of Coventry, Meadowlands consists of two lakes, with 108 pegs

Lambsdown

The biggest lake is Lambsdown at 11 acres with 72 pegs. The depth spans from 4 foot to 14 foot at its deepest point, with carp going up to 27lb and if you like deep bream fishing in the winter, this is place to fish. The carp fishing is fantastic during the summer, and the bream fishing during the winter is one of the best in the country. 200lb of carp regularly wins summer matches, and 50lb of silvers often wins winter matches.

Warren

The smaller lake is Warren at 11 acres with 36 pegs. It is 4 foot deep all over, with carp going over 20lb, and some fantastic bream fishing. This lake is perfect for club matches with 16 minimum. Parking is behind the pegs. Warren lends itself very well to pole fishing.

Prices

Pleasure fishing £11 peg fees (£15 2 rods) 24 hour ticket £20 (2 rods)

Matches on Warren are whole pool only, But if you pay for 1/2 the pegs you can have the whole pool. £10 peg fees with a minimum of 16 anglers (£160 minimum)

Matches on Lambsdown we generally peg the biggest match on 1 to 33, (Deeps x 33) next on 51 to 72 (far x 22) and then 33 to 50 (pump x 16) we don’t use peg 34 in the middle of the bay so it leaves a gap between clubs and or sections.

There are many videos on Youtube about fishing at Meadowlands, and plenty of advice with a simple google search.

Meadowlands was dug out in the 1980s for sand and gravel. then turned into a fishery in the 1990s by John Bloor. In 2000 it was taken over by Dean Young and his consortium. They ran it as a pleasure and club fishery and built it up to what it is today. It is now run by 3 friends who have fished together for over 30 years. Brothers Mick and Tim Bull, and Nigel Harrhy. All 3 have pleasure fished together, carp fished and match fished all over the country, and all 3 have been in the country’s most prestigious fishing match, the 16 peg Fish O’Mania final, with Mick taking the title in 2008.
